"IT IS ONLY A TOOL.
A TOOL FORGED FROM
THE METALS OF THE
EARTH. FROM SILVER.
FROM GOLD. FASHIONED
BY HISTORY. CRAFTED
BY MASTERS. IT IS A TOOL
THAT SHAPES MOOD AND
CULTURE. IT ENRAPTURES.
SOMETIMES DISTRACTS.
EXHILARATES AND SOOTHES.
SINGS AND WEEPS. NOW
TAKE UP THE TOOL
AND SCULPT MUSIC
FROM THE AIR."

"Playing a flute is like writing a book. You're telling what's in your heart...It's easier to play if it's right from your heart. You get the tone, and the fingers will follow."
Play from the heart; the flute is a heart song...
like a sweet prayer, and it will teach you as well
as you teach yourself.

I couldn't decide what to do with my Christmas and Birthday money. I considered getting some electronics such as a digital camera or camcorder. I don't know what I would do with those. Also, in 5 years, the electronic would be old technology. My mom suggested saving my money for a flute.
I want to get a flute that has features that my curent flute doesn't. Here's a list of features I want in my new flute:
1) Gold Lip Plate
2) Solid Silver Head Joint
3) Silver Plated Keys
4) Offset G
5) Split E
6) B Foot w/ A Gizmo Key*
7) French Pointed Arms
8) Sterling Silver Body
9) A Good Company Name*
*Feature I Already Have

I have created a new line of products. Each design has words all related to each other taken from one of my lenses.
My teacher once told me that silk was more absorbent than cotton. Therefore, silk would make a better cleaning cloth than cotton. You want your flute to be as dry as possible. Keep your flute dry, and save on repair costs. Buying a silk cleaning cloth is a small investment that will save you a whole lot of money.

If you are serious about playing the flute, you should get a private teacher.
Like being home schooled, you get one on one attention so you learn faster. Private teachers teach you at the speed you need. If your lesson partner is having trouble with something, your teacher probably won't move on until they have that thing down. Thus, slowing you down. If you have private lessons, you don't have to worry about your lesson partner learning at a different speed than you.
Private teachers can help you with technique like double tonguing. You can learn all sorts of different flute techniques with a private teacher that a band director won't teach you.
Here's a tipto save money. Cleaning your flute will save you money on repair costs. Here's how to clean your flute.
When you are done playing you should clean out your flute.
Use a soft cloth wrapped around a cleaning rod to dry all of the spit out. Then you should put swabs in your flute to keep your flute dry.
Polish your flute to keep it shiny. This is more of a cosmetic thing, but it is good to keep your flute looking good. It is the yellow pad in the right upper corner.
