Amazing Salary.com Stats for my fave city, #Chicago

I think I should write a story about a Jersey girl moving to Chicago. Anyway. I was, for a soul-searching career-focused session, looking up relative livable salaries here, and I thought I'd check Chicago too. Not that any one cares, but I just want to share anyway. Especially as I kind of use twitter some times as a sort of reference sheet:P

I dont really live in Newark, but strangely Essex County is off the  map for Salary.com; what digs with that?

According to Salary.com, moving to Chicago some time in the future means:

$6,497 net change in disposable income

Cost of Living at Home Typical Salary at Work

Current Location Newark, NJ (Edit) Passaic, NJ (Edit)

New Location Chicago, IL (Edit) Chicago, IL (Edit)

Percent Change in $ +14.8% -6.9%

Explanation The cost of living inChicago, IL is 14.8% higher than in Newark, NJ. Therefore, you would have to earn a salary of$34,430 to maintain your current standard of living. Employers in Chicago, ILtypically pay 6.9% lessthan employers inPassaic, NJ. Therefore, if you take the same type of job in the same type of company in Chicago, IL you are likely to earn$27,932.

Pretty impressive stuff.

As for living in NJ, and working in NYC:

Results for your new location

$1,997 net change in disposable income

Cost of Living at Home Typical Salary at Work

Current Location Newark, NJ (Edit) Newark, NJ (Edit)

Love you all! and so glad to be back =)

#microfiction #fiction I feel as free/ as an acorn bee/ with my jacket dark/

my breasts free/

and my horse neighing and galloping beneath me.

#microfiction To my #tweeple: I was distraught. I called in a Twitter. I was tweeted back, and a Twitfriend

met me for dinner. And we danced the night away, and was comforted.

And here I curl, now, tucked safely in bed after being kissed chastely at the door, smiling. The power of Twitter.

@ErikJHeels *wavees* hello, sir, just wanted to say your Twittersquatting article was well-written, humorous, &

scary (in a good way) at the same time! It makes me almost consider registering another Twitter account, to protect my full name...but as I'm not famous I shall not worry about that yetXD! Thank you for the good work and I have subscribed to your blog!

@mecarluen Nice, I saw the Twitter Counter today-- even though it doesnt help me considering I have less than a 100

followers, I love and appreciate its inclusion...along with my "Twittworth" and "Twitter Grade"! :D:D

Yeah, Twitwall!!!

Note to Self: Revisiting Web-based Mindmapping & Note-taking=

- Google Notebook has all the features I need...except I prefer the highlighting. So when I go back to the page its  there.

-Beyond this, Only I-Lighter seems to match very well. Am waiting for Webnotes to accept me, or open up too

- I wanted a mindmapping tool with easy 'adding-idea' tools, so while wisemapping.com and mind42.com are VERY cool, they dont have a browser bookmarklet. MindMeister wins in that aspect!

-Zotero's good, but I know of other bibiliography tools and anyway atm that's not an issue for me. Bibliographies are tedious, but they can be done.

ILeonardo-- its essentially a sophisticate crowd-sourcing knowledge social network.  Great, but with its risks as I know I'll still lay on a chopping board if I dare use sources, say, from Wikipedia. Their DEMOShow vid showcased Wikipedia >>

WINNERS:

I-Lighter

MindMeister

Random: I LUB Twitwall extras:D:D

For & Inspired by @panhistoria #fiction #microfiction:: A Mother's Wail

(Also inspired by Hans Christian Anderson' 'The Little Mermaid')

I woke up and grazed my hand down my husband's back and looked at him smilingly as we kissed gently and passionatly our 'Good Morning's.'  I lifted my hand to massage his neck and opened my mouth-

"Your Majesties!" My husband jerked back, causing bubbles to rise around him, and I hastily arranged my hair to fall as best as the sea water permitted over the mounds of my breasts and I sat upright to glare at a highly-embarassed butler, who stood fumbling at the golden coral  bedroom floor. But he uttered , "Yela is missing!"  and then my anger turned to a wail and my King-Husband sprang up, and swam away to order a hunt for our daughter.  I  wailed for her fool-hardy  desire to see the battle between the Mages and the Rogues that raged not far, and above the sea. "Your Majesty" came again, and I looked up. "She has been found- but she has been caught by the Rogues.  We must turn to Maid Kelian". I shivered at the mention of the terrible Mage and that I would have to lose my tail to seek her. But all for the Sake of my Daughter! And with this self-rally, I rose and began my journey to save my  daughter...the princess of the sea.

For #prolife #catholic #fiction:: I chewed my gum nervously and spit it out on the ground, and stared at Melina. She

was rocking on her heels, and I couldnt help but feeling it grated on me, just as her eyes, wide, a bit glassed with lashes that were excessively dewed. The test strip lay forlorn on the coffee table between us. I am 21, she 18; my mind flashed through all the possibilities and closed my eyes to steady myself and listen to my heart. 'My heart', I thought, 'My heartbeat--' suddenly I snapped my eyes open and helped her dry her tears, and held her tightly, decisively. Nine months later, our son was born, and I placed my finger tip between the chubby, downy mounds of his little chest and heard what I thought I needed hear 9 months before: the sound of MY heartbeat...through him.
