Blogger ftp hosted blogs remain as closed as you can imagine

To use the Wordpress Blogger importer your need a Google account (no problem), and an upgraded blog hosted on blogspot.com (nope) or a custom domain (not FTP). That lates 'not FTP' is curious? If you host your own domain with a Blogger account on it, publishing is done through FTP, folks.
The painful result is that importing these Blogger posts into Wordpress is not possible, even though Wabsnasm stated otherwise in his/her work around (establish wordpress.com account and do the import there). Sorrry: that's (not) working under the same conditions.
