A high school friend wrote a poem. He called it Ego Sum - the Christ Codex. When he was finished, he applied numerology and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. With that clue, I applied some numerology of my own to his poem to come up with the chords, then, at my wife's suggestion, added some lead guitar over the top. Here is his poem converted to music by the numbers.
Thanks for the poem, James. Here are the complements of music and a mix to enhance your words.
Steve sent a lyric to me asking if I had a tune for it. I did, it was an older tune that I composed and Bucky mixed. Is it a fit? What do you think?
Recently I came in contact through Facebook with a friend from high school. He lives in Canada. We both high-jumped in sports. His nickname was "the bird." Ten years ago he wrote this poem, and after he listened to a few of my tunes here in Twitter, he asked if I could put his poem to music. So, here it is.
This is the same tune as "Spring;" the mix is a combination of Ray and Bucky, and the lyrics and voice are Steve's.
This new tune is the result of Bucky challenging me to "write a tune with jazz chords." As always, my tune with Bucky's mix. Enjoy!
I did this tune and Bucky mixed it a while back. It recently received new life when Steve wrote lyrics for it.
It's been a while since I was visited by the Muse; I hope she's back for a while. Here's one composed by me with lyrics by Steve Heinen and mixed by Bucky Harris.
