Guns N Roses Bottled Off Stage In Ireland
by Andrew Tijs - September 3 2010
Axl and co. get booed and bottled off stage up after showing up an hour late to their Irish show.
Reports and video have appeared from a Guns N Roses show in Ireland, showing the band getting jeered and only making it through a couple of songs before storming off stage.
Angry punters claim that they pulled the same stunt as their Leeds and Reading Festival appearance, making the crowd wait an hour.
Video footage shows and extended start of ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, accompanied by equal amounts of booing and cheering and a rain of bottles.
Axl stops the song, asks for the throwing to cease, and reportedly made it through “a couple” more songs before dragging the band off stage and the lights coming up.
Fans were offered a refund and ushered out. The band reportedly restarted some time later, but punters who had already left were locked out.
The notoriously fickle Gunners continue to tour throughout Europe in September, so hopefully the French and Croatian crowds are kinder.

Eric Clapton Goes Back In Time With New Album
by Paul Cashmere - September 1 2010
Eric Clapton says when most musicians try and go forward with their new music, he has gone in the opposite direction. He has gone back in time.
“When I look for what I am going to listen to I go backwards. I am always going the other way,” he says in a video at his website. “Most people are trying to figure out “how do I get in the fast lane going that way”. I am going in the other direction. I want to find the oldest thing to do.”
‘Clapton’, the 19th studio album from Eric Clapton, will be released at the end of September. He says he has been singing some of these songs for 60 years. “I’ve waited a long time to do some of these songs,” he said. “I heard ‘When Somebody Thinks You’re Wonderful’ when I was a kid. Before I was a teenager, when I was 7, 8, 9, I heard these songs. I know them. I have been singing them in my head for 60 years and I learned them then. If you say lets go on do that, I will go in and sing them first take – nothing to learn. That’s what I love about this experience”.
‘Clapton’ features collaborations with J.J, Cale, Allen Toussaint and Wynton Marsalis plus songs from ‘Irving Berlin and Hoagy Carmichael as well as new Clapton songs.

The Stones Final Tour Rumours Continue To Surface
by Music-News.com - July 25 2010
The veteran rockers - comprising Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, both 66, Charlie Watts, 69, and Ronnie Wood, 63, - will reportedly undertake a series of concerts at venues around the world next year and then plan to call time on their epic career.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "They're likely to perform in stadiums. It's almost certainly the last full-scale world tour.
"The band realise that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans."
If the jaunt - which is expected to run throughout next year and well into 2012 - goes ahead, it won't be the 'Satisfaction' group's first farewell tour of their home country.
They famously performed around Britain in 1971 before leaving the country to avoid high taxes.
They gave up touring again from 1982 before returning to the road in 1990.
The 'Brown Sugar' hitmakers - who have sold over 200 million albums since forming in 1962 - last performed together on their 'Bigger Bang' world tour which ran from August 2005 to August 2007. It was the highest-grossing concert series of all time, generating over $558 million.

The Who Plan To Tour Quadrophenia
by Andrew Tijs - July 8 2010
Roger Daltrey says that The Who will tour in 2011, and incorporate Quadrophenia.
Speaking to Billboard, Daltrey spoke of wanting to tour in the second half of 2011.
Contrary to their former “dying before they get old” edict, Daltrey now says, “We definitely don't want to stop. We feel it's the role of the artist to go all the way through life 'til you can't do it anymore.”
He suggested that they’d incorporate parts of their 1973 rock opera Quadrophenia into next year’s tour.
They haven’t performed the songs since 1994 and Daltrey suggested that the plot may need a clarification and an update.
He said, "For the newcomers, it was narratively a bit of a puzzle, what Pete and I were to this guy on the screen. It needs a revamp."
The tour would be the first run of shows for the band since 2007.
(The Who - the band that never quits touring! Well along with The Stones they just keep on keeping on!)
