When asked about the beginning of his career, Sebastian Krieg finds it quite difficult to remember specific details. His love affair with music began in the early 90s, which drove him to experiment with DJing and producing at an early age—much to the dislike of his roommates and neighbours. Nearly two decades later, Sebastian has made a world-wide name for himself as one of the top progressive producers, and the half French half German living in Munich is looking forward to many upcoming projects he’s working on.
Approximately the last decade of his career, Sebastian has partnered with Roman F., creating Shik Stylko, and generating much world-wide attention with releases on Defected, Stereo Productions, Freerange, and Peppermint Jam to name a few.
Now, Sebastian is more focusing to his own stuff as well as working on many different projects.
In 2009, collaboration with Jerome Isma-ae allowed the team to produce the smash hit “308”, the track with a huge break down where you can hear an actual Ferrari 308 rapidly accelerating over dance floors world-wide. The massive track ended up gaining the support of many international DJs, from Sebastian Ingrosso to Armin van Buuren—who ultimately licensed the track for his famous State of Trance compilation.
Sebastian has always been a risk taker with his productions—being inspired by the world around him, from Ferrari’s to movies to international travel inspiring him from all sides.
2010 began with a bang with the release of “Brooklyn” on EDX’s Swiss-based label Pink Star Records. This track can be classified as a progressive house anthem, but is truly a cross-over hit, breaking down genre barriers through the unique and, quality producing by Sebastian—ultimately gaining support by many progressive and house DJs. Krieg feels passionately about this new style, and plans to focus his productions in this direction in the future—unless otherwise inspired!
Sebastian’s passion for travel is supported by his international bookings, with many shows in cities like: Hong Kong, Seoul, Amsterdam, London, Dubai, Antigua in the Caribbean, etc.
His diverse residencies over the years have taken him to famous clubs like M1 Club (1995-2003), Pasha Munich, and 4 years of hosting the House-floor of Cocoon’s label night at Amnesia in Ibiza. Sebastian’s passion for producing is driven by his desire to create the ultimate dance music experience for people in the club that night, and recognition of this by bookers has allowed him to play together with Roger Sanchez, Eric Morillo, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South, and Deep Dish to name a few.
Ultimately, Sebastian’s unique sound and approach to producing has
solidified his place in the international electronic dance music scene,
and he is very excited for what’s to come in the future!

..Featuring tracks from Germany, UK, USA, Africa, Italy, Israel, France, Luxembourg, Turkey, Kasachstan, Netherlands and Bulgaria the Care Compilation Volume 2 is a stellar package for a great cause. Put together by Nicky Zimmer - "Kick It" is dedicated to supporting sportsmanship in the fight against HIV/Aids and rampant teenage crime.
This set features new tracks and cuts from the past year which showcase the diversity of dance music output on the ODA Digital Records label. Best known for the minimal tech house sound, there are also great progressive, techno and house tracks as well!! All 22 cuts will work in the club setting deserve your attention.
Although a matter of taste, my favorite tracks are those that make a bold statement on the dancefloor. Salah's "Shine Thru" has been a staple of my sets with it's clean production and tribal vibe. Pierre Deutschmann's "International Peach Fuzz" is a four on the floor house rump shaker.
Representing the trancier side of things is Flash Brothers brilliant "Faith In Love" feat Tiff Lacey; total hands up in the air business! Fallhead's funky and dark "I Love To Play" is minimal but the bass makes it happen. Techno superstar Larry Powers weighs in with "Charity", a blissed out piece of aural heaven. I love the dirty, nasty quality of Radunz + Leitner "Debuet" remixed by Ron Ractive; underground and ferocious!!
Finally, I must shout out to 2 very different tracks; "Skytekk" by George F and "Touche Ana" by Alan Prosser feat Monsif.
George F is the king of the urgent tech house sound and on "Skytekk" he shows he knows how to pace a record to optimum effect. Topnotch peak time material. "Touche Ana" is one of those cuts that takes the road less travelled with excellent results. Monsif''s intoxicating french vocals play nicely with Alan Prosser's proto-house vibe; the syncopation is lovely and the production is original and fun. You can not lose with this collection. There is truly something in it for everyone with lots of pleasant suprises!!!

Sportsmanship against HIV/AIDS and teenage crime
Despite the ongoing economic growth, more than half of the South African population is living below the poverty level. The unemployment rate is at 24%.
Due to the difficult job market situation, many parents have to take on work far away from their home towns. Thus, less than half of all children are raised by both parents. Moreover, the HIV/AIDS numbers in South Africa are the highest worldwide: 13% of South African children between the ages of 2 and 14 have lost at least one parent due to the immunodeficiency disease.
Many children are left to take care of themselves. Being on their own, they find themselves facing problems that are the order of the day in South African townships: a fast growing crime rate, a high drug and alcohol abuse rate and the fast expansion of HIV/AIDS. The lack of support and recreational offers leads to life in the street where the children get sucked into a whirl of crime and drug abuse.
HOW CARE CAN HELP? The open sport and support offer “Kick-It” ran by REPHELE, the local CARE partner organization, has been providing these children and teenagers with an alternative to life in the street since 2003.
REPHELE offers sports activities such as soccer, basketball, volleyball and athletics. Each discipline offers training sessions, competitions and tournaments.
In addition, an associated support program informs the children about the dangers of HIV/AIDS, drug abuse and crime. It is the goal to physically and mentally strengthen the young people by providing sports activities and education. They gain new self-confidence and learn how to take care of their life – even under difficult circumstances. They get to experience companionship and a sense of belonging that their families cannot provide any longer. The offer is also explicitly catering to children who have already become infected with HIV as they need special attention and care.
At the moment, 600 children and teenagers can take advantage of "Kick-It" on 6 sports fields. In the course of this, CARE partner organization REPHELE is close to hitting the wall regarding its staffing, organizational and financial capacities. Since the demand is very high, CARE and REPHELE would like to offer more children and teenagers access to "Kick-It”. Additional financial means are necessary to expand the offers qualitatively and quantitatively, and to strengthen our partner REPHELE's organization and structure.
To further expand the "Kick-It" program successfully and sustainably, it is necessary to help strengthen the organization on a personal, organizational and financial level. So far, REPHELE has been insufficiently equipped with the necessary staff, office infrastructure and Management know-how.
In 2010, South Africa is hosting the soccer/football world championship. In this context, REPHELE is planning to organize a street soccer tournament. This is certainly going to be an unforgettable event for all children and teenagers!
