#PodCampHfx .... a few notes on Andrew Baron's (www.RocketBoom.com) presentation
My first PodCamp experience this past Sunday was fantastic. Learned many great new things from all who presented or facilitated or participated in the Sessions.
The keynote speaker was Andrew Baron, of Rocketboom in New York. His presentation had me taking many notes on his tips for using social media. A few of his points really stuck in my mind:
1.Try to be: First, Best or the Most Unique at what you do. If you get any two of the three you will probably be more successful.
2. If you want to do a video or podcast, do it as a small business would; build your audience first.
And here are a few of the many sites and application he talked about or mentioned, I will soon be checking them all out - after all if not what would have been the point of listening and taking notes!

If you are at all interested in Social Media, I suggest you look for a PodCamp in your area, it's not just for those some would term "geeks" and has great info for the beginner as well as those more experienced.
Thanks to all who organized and arranged the Halifax PodCamp - I will be back next year!
